The CJ-5 was the most enduring of all the Jeep models being first produced in 1954 and lasting up until 1983. It was the basis for many special models such as the Jeep Renegade of the 1970's
The Jeep CJ-5 is probably the most universally recognizable Jeep and is largely responsible for popularizing 4 wheel drive recreational vehicles. Various options of hard top, soft top and half cab were offered and many optional accessories were produced to make this a truly versatile workhorse.
